Ingredients (for 10ish Latkas):

Main Ingredients:

  • 6 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 60g matzah meal
  • Salt and vegetable oil for frying


  • Frying pan


These can be made in advance, stored in the fridge and re-heated for 20 mins in a hot oven

Prepare (15min):

  1. Peel onions and potatoes
  2. Lightly whisk the two eggs

Cooking (20min):

  1. Grate the onions and potatoes in a large bowl and squeeze out all the water from the potatoes
  2. Add in the salt, eggs and matzah meal and mix thoroughly
  3. Make into patty shapes and deep fry for roughly 10 minutes (5 mins each side) until outside is golden brown and crispy and insides are cooked
