Oriental Seak

#

Ingredients (for 4ppl):

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 x rib-eye steak
    • 1 heaped teaspoon Szechuan pepper
    • Chinese 5 spice
    • 2cm of fresh ginger
    • 1/2 red chilli
    • 1 clove of garlic
    • 1 lime
  • 400g dried noodles
    • 6 tablespoons of chilli oil
    • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 clove of garlic
    • 1/2 a bunch of fresh coriander
    • 8 spring onions
    • 1 organic beef stock cube
    • 1/2 a lemon
    • Runny honey
    • A squeeze of lime juice
  • Vegetables

Utensils:

  • Large saucepan
  • Frying pan
  • Steamer
  • Big serving bowl

Instructions

Prepare (10min):

  1. Boil the kettle
  2. Put the meat on a wooden board, sprinkle over salt, pepper, pounded Szechuan pepper, good pinch of Chinese 5 spice, olive oil and rub into meat
  3. Put the chilli oil, soy sauce, crush the clove of garlic, finely chopped spring onions all in the serving bowl and mix
  4. Peel the ginger, cut the chilli finely and 1 clove of garlic

Cooking (10min):

  1. Put on the vegetables and reboil the kettle
  2. Fry the steaks, 15 seconds on each side and then 2 minutes on each side depending on the thickness
  3. Take the steaks out, put them on a clean board, drizzle olive oil over, grate the ginger over the steaks, add the chilli and garlic over the top, squeeze over the lime juice
  4. Add the noodles to a saucepan with the stock cube
  5. Squeeze some lemon and add some honey to the mixing bowl
  6. Slice the steaks at an angle, toss so they mop up the flavours, tear over the coriander
  7. Drain the noodles and pour into mixing bowl, toss very thoughrouly, pour some of the broth over if any left
