Creamy Mushroom Steak

Ingredients (for 2ppl):

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 200g thinly sliced portobello mushrooms
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 235g of single cream
  • 1/2 a cup of dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons of dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of basil
  • Potatoes
  • Vegetables

Utensils:

  • Pyrex dish
  • 2 x Saucepan
  • Frying pan

Instructions

Prepare (8min):

  1. Pre heat oven to 240 degrees
  2. Peel and slice potatoes
  3. Finely chop the garlic
  4. Thinly slice the mushrooms

Cooking (60min):

  1. Put potatoes in the oven for 60mins (also needs tossing half way through) - Can also put in carrots/peppers/onions
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan with the garlic, when butter melted add mushrooms and toss for 3 minutes
  3. Add wine and simmer for 3 minutes
  4. Put on vegetables
  5. Add basil, mixed herbs, cream and mustard. Stir until mixed and simmer for 10 minutes
  6. Fry steaks as desired, remove and put onto a chopping board and cover
  7. Pour sauce into the steak frying pan and mix into the burnt steak bits on the pan
