Seared Tuna

Ingredients (for 2ppl):

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 x Tuna steaks (2cm thick)
  • Half a lemon

Rub:

  • 2 x tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 x good pinches of salt
  • 2 pinches of fennel seeds
  • 2 pinches of pepper

Goes Well With:

  • Roast Potatoes
  • Seasonal Vegetables

Utensils:

  • Mortar and pestle
  • Frying Pan

Instructions

Prepare (10min):

  1. Put all "Rub" ingredients into a mortar and pestle and grind
  2. Spread the Rub on a chopping board
  3. Lay Tuna steaks on the Rub - turn over so both sides gets the rub
  4. Pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil on to steaks and pat all over with your fingers - do to both sides

Cooking (4min):

  1. Heat a pan to medium/high heat and fry steaks for 1.5 mins each side
  2. Take out the pan, lay on chopping board and drizzle a little more extra virgin olive oil on both sides and squeeze the lemon juice over it, cover with foil and leave for 1 minute to rest
  3. Rip into two parts and serve
