Current construction methods waste considerable amounts of materials (On average an American home wastes 3-7 tonnes of materials). It is technically feasible to construct a building, using multiple materials in a layer by layer fashion, with one machine. This saves huge amounts of time, materials, and manual labour.

Shape Memory Alloy
One of the main considerations when constructing is the transportation of pre-fabricated materials/products. Shape memory allow allows certain components to be pre-fabricated, but in a far more transportation friendly format, for example awkward or large shapes can be collapsed into easily transported items and correctly re-shaped upon arrival.
